RIHS Students Awarded the James O'Melia Jr. Athletic Award

The 2020 James O'Melia Jr. Athletic Award was presented to two Rock Island High School athletes at a special social distancing event on May 12. The student athletes are selected for athleticism, leadership, honesty, sportsmanship, and character. Heather Motley and Peter Kimba were chosen as the winners for the James O'Meila Athletic Award! Congrats to our winners and all the honorees!

Heather is an outstanding athlete, having participated on the Bowling and Softball teams during her tenure at Rock Island High School.

• Starting 3rd Baseman on the 2018 State Championship Team – State Champion
• 4 Time Varsity Letter Winner Bowling
• 4 Time All-Conference Bowling

Heather committed to St. Ambrose University. She plans to bowl for their bowling team while majoring in education.
 
Peter Kimba

Peter is an outstanding athlete, having participated on the Football, Soccer, and Track teams during his tenure at Rock Island High School.
