Over the weekend five Rock Island High School wrestlers competed in the Illinois Freestyle State Tournament. It's one of the toughest tournaments in the nation. 

 

Antonio Parker, Amare Overton finished 8,  Steven Marquez and Andrew Marquez finished 6 and Truth Vesey was the lone medalist, taking 3rd Place and earning a spot on the Illinois National Team, and will be competing for them at Nationals in Fargo!

 

Truth defeated a state champion and two other state medalists to earn his spot! All wrestlers had matches with similar competition.
