ESports is the newest sport at Rock Island High School and is an emerging sport in IHSA. ESports also known as electronic sports is a form of sport competition using video games. Competitors from different leagues or teams face off in the same games that are popular with at-home gamers.

Coached by Laurie Vroman and Craig Sharp, students compete in online games against other high schools in the region.

The current games offered by esports at Rock Island High School are League of Legends, Rocket League, Madden 21, and Fifa 21. Currently, the high school has one League of Legends team and three Rocket League teams.

League of Legends is a team-based strategy game where two teams of five powerful champions face off to destroy the other's base.  Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer with cars, physics-driven competition.
